I and my wife, Hannah, both had the privilege of being raised in the homes of Baptist preachers. While in our childhood, we both were born again when we asked Jesus Christ to save us.

While in my pre-teen years, I answered the Lord’s call to preach. I received a B.A. in Evangelism from Oklahoma Baptist College, which was led by Pastor Jim Vineyard. I would go on to receive my M.A. from Golden State Baptist College, which was founded by Pastor Jack Trieber.

Our first full-time position was at Frontier Baptist Church in Durango, CO, where we served for eight years. As the Assistant Pastor, we had many obligations where we taught Sunday School, led the church choir, and had a church helps and church planting ministry.

In 2014, Hannah’s father, Pastor Tim Funchess, suffered a debilitating stroke and was no longer able to pastor the church he had started almost 20 years prior. The Lord gave us the privilege of pastoring this church, Faith Baptist Church of Carlsbad, NM, for seven years.

We are blessed to be a part of God’s work at Gospel Way Baptist Church. There is nothing more enjoyable than being in God’s perfect will. What a privilege to serve our Great God! It has been amazing to watch God work in lives, add to the church, make new friends, and see people saved and growing in the Lord.
